Ethylene glycol – antifreeze fluid G11 Geotherm-K
Concentrated coolant G11 Geotherm-K for ventilation/heating systems – a liquid (concentrate) based on ethylene glycol with inhibitors from BASF (Germany)*. Contains no nitrates, phosphates, or amines which can form jelly-like deposits and interfere with system operation. Only distilled or purified water should be used for dilution. See the dilution table below.
*Inhibitor – a substance that slows or stops a chemical reaction.
Dilution ratio 1:1 gives a freezing point of -37.5°C
Recommended dilution for heating systems is 1:2 (1 L of concentrate and 2 L of water). This provides better flow through pumps and protects them from damage. Use well or borehole water; avoid city water due to chemical content. 1:2 dilution gives a freezing point around -16.1 to -18°C (30% volume). Mix well before adding to system – do not mix directly in the system.
Coolant G11 (antifreeze) is used in:
Heating systems
Air conditioners
Cooling equipment
Appearance: homogeneous, free-flowing, yellow liquid
Complies with standards: ASTM D3306, BS 6580
